In Edmonton Alberta, frosts can occur in June and sometimes return as early as September. Daylight is abundant during the summer months and plants grow very quickly.
The climate is usually dry. Although this year has had early heavy snowfall, recent winters have had little. Many warmer climate plants live in Harrys garden. Several spend the winter in Harry's green house.
Most bedding plants are started from the previous seasons seeds. Tubers and bulbs that could not survive our winters spend them in containers in the garage.

I am a firm believer in experimenting with different suggestions. It is only through experimenting that the best methods come to light. If it does not work, try something else.
Harrys garden uses natural methods for pest and weed control. Healthy plants resist insects naturally. Avoid insecticides and herbicides. Nature has a way of balancing things out naturally.
